I think you didn't read google properly when you were searching for a well know cemetary in Bristol, mate. It's actually Arno's Vale, not Amos Vale.

Clell65619 replied:

Actually, it's a misremembering on my part. I attended a funeral there in '78 for a cousin of my then fiance, now wife.

Hmmmm..... Interesting and could have potential, if you'd decide to do it.

Yes, you can most definitely smell and feel the angst. Voldemort is going to find out that there's Hell to pay for what happened and Harry, and friends, will take payment in like coin. I rather suspect that Tom has no real idea of just how much whup-ass Harry can, and will, bring down on them. It will b e instructive to the rest of the wizarding world.

*wibbles* Poor Harry! :(

I do like that last line, though! Heh, people had better stay out of the way, because I have a feeling that once Harry gets into his anger stage of grief, he isn't going to care much who he rips apart. If Dumbledore or his Order of the Burnt Chicken gets in the way of him going after Tommy 'I have Daddy Issues and I'm Taking Them Out on the World' Riddle, well, they won't be in his way for long.

Great AU moment! I also get the feeling that Parvati isn't going to sit by for long. She wants justice and revenge for her sister too. Good job! :)

So-o-o-o-o, just WHY should Harry NOT kill the evil ones who kill without mercy, without restraint, without remorse???? HARRY IS NOT DUMBLES.

NOT being willing to kill, when killing is needed, is Dumbels failing, and he makes others pay for his mercy with their pain and their blood, because HE can't stomach doing what is necessary.

Voldie and Co. have declared WAR, and in War soldiers don't "make arrests". They make corpses, because corpses don't get up and shoot you in the back. Neither do they get broken out of prison to kill again.

Clell65619 replied:

- No, Harry isn't Dumbledore, but he is the son of Tony Stark.

- The Marvels have killed on occasion, but only as a very last resort. this is the culture that Harry has been brought up in and the one he believes to be 'right'. If the scene shown in this short happened in story, then Harry would go Dark Lord hunting and come home with a pelt. I've got an idea or two for dealing with Tom that doesn't require Harry to kill. Having access to the allies that Harry will have is going to be a big help.

> It has been pointed out to me that I sometimes have horrible things happen to Harry's girlfriends. I'm trying to stop doing that.
If you're doing that because you want to change, then good. Don't change cuz the readers ask.

Everyone has their own thing. If this works for you and you want to continue to do it this way, then continue.

I'll stop before the rambling becomes incomprehensible.

This chapter: Yep, angst is just oozing out of it. Which is, of course, the point. Even for being so short, it still managed a lot of emotional impact.

Clell65619 replied:

- It wasn't so much I wanted to or not, it's that I wasn't aware that it had become a minor theme of my stories. I was made aware of it when a review asked 'What horrible thing are you going to do to Hermione this time?'

That was beautifully written. Not maudlin, nor angsty (in a goffick/oh woe sense) nor drenched in purple prose. It was a clean, clear snapshot of grief and the approaching stormfront of righteous, freezing rage.
Excellent job getting the balance just right.

Considering Harry's state of mind, I think Tony will give him a bye on a murder spree, as long as they're Death Eaters.

Though I find that you have Harry not killing in the actual Technomage story to be a bit fitting.

There are worse things than killing someone. Killing them means you simply want them dead, no matter how long it takes or how painful it is. The Marvelverse heroes are proponents of a sort of poetic justice, and you don't get that by simply killing off your enemies.

Even the best of them aren't that merciful at times.

Clell65619 replied:

- Well considering what Tony did on the Skrull homeworld...

- There are so many ways to abuse Tom using the Marvel Universe that killing him isn't really necessary

Death Eaters are going to be full up after this one....

Feeling a bit morose when you wrote this? Nicely done, but....

Clell65619 replied:

- No, not really. As I said in the A/N, I was looking for a way to drive Harry to the point where he will kill. Based on pre-reader reaction I decided to take the story in a fuzzier direction. Harry isn't going to kill, but many people will wish he had. But that's seventh year and the story is only up to midway through the second.

I liked what I saw - a lot - though the comments attached to the story left me with a question for you.

Almost every writer has what I call a "wombat place". I call it this after a colleague; every work he would write, even if it was meant to be dark or serious, would always end up in comedy within about 5-6 chapters. When things got silly, the wombats would come out. Thus, the story had gone to the wombat place.

The point of a wombat place is this: the story may start out quite different, but - unless they consciously try to avoid it - drifts over the course of chapters starts to drift to a certain point in a person's psyche. Some, like my old colleague, went to comedy; others, like myself, tended to go toward darker endings.

So... my question to you, given your issues with the original planned end of Technomage. What is your 'wombat place'? And what do you think about it?

Clell65619 replied:

- My writing is a fairly organic thing. When the actors start ad libbing in my head, when my prereaders make suggestions or point out my idiocy, the story mutates. I always start a new story with an outline. The outline rarely survives intact past the fifth chapter.

- Technomage is on it's seventh outline.

It sad that Harry lost a close friend, I am surprise that Parvati Mum and Dad have forbidden her to spend time with her friends. I think that Harry is big part of why Parvati is forbidden, but I don't think that the Patil are trying to protect Parvati by making her cut ties with her friends. But they are scared to lose the other daughter and they trying make sure that don't happen, but in the end they might cause more harm then good.

As I said when folks complained about what I did to Ron some times, it only works when we care for a character

I think this should stand out on its own, maybe even incorporate a divergent path from Technomage. Nonetheless it's a good one-shot, if you look at it that way.

Can't wait to see Harry armored up to the wazoo in seventh year.

Clell65619 replied:

The Armor will show up in it's 1.0 version fourth year, though Harry will be testing a very important system when Neville comes to visit.

- The way I'm justifying Tony allowing Harry access to his tech is that Harry has to understand it and construct it himself before it's allowed, so the armor will come together slowly. Also the Technomagic will start showing up as he and his team get it working in the project.

only problem with this story is that while tony could leave all means of communication both fury and pepper would both be able to find him in hours if not sooner.
