I came across a reference to this chapter/story in a Yahoo group recently and was snared anew. I know I've commented on it before but:

Can we hold you to that? There's one big huge hook even I can see for part 2:

"Cedric was killed by Peter Pettigrew. In addition he named all of the Death Eaters he saw that night."

I can really see the cohort taking on at least Wormtail; they were so driven just to find out the truth from Harry, and now they're motivated even more by their collective guilt over what they had done, and were going to do, to the boy. Surely they'll pursue Pettigrew and exact their revenge for the cold murder of one of their own?

For some reason the second part - "he named all of the Death Eaters" - sticks even more in my mind. Less reason for the Hufflepuffs to go after them - the DEs had no direct involvement in Cedric's murder - and if the Hufflepuffs could take out the DEs now, why not 12 years earlier, etc? But the idea of the cohort planning the deaths of the DEs, removing them from society - for society's welfare - since Fudge won't ... it's an attractive notion.

Like I probably said in my first review of this tale it works well in pushing the 'noble young hero' button. And I've love to see Hannah take pains to be a good friend ... and maybe Susie make Harry's dreams come true.

Or the Hufflepuffs, now that they've directly seen what Harry is up against, assist him - directly or indirectly - to prevail.

Can you add this to the (long) queue of fics needing your attention/completion? Cheers.

I am really glad to have discovered this. I am in the middle of writing a long and boring presentation on the successes and failures of the weapons inspections in Iraq before the 2003 war. THis allows me to break it up and enjoy just reading for a time.
