I think I read this before but it's still a great ficlet. One little niggle though, ravenclaw's symbol is an eagle and so they probably wouldn't have been corvid house but eagle house originally using your scheme.

Of course the Hufflepuffs run everything - the Griffindors are jocks who mostly go into sports, the Ravenclaws are researchers, the Slitherins spend all their time scheming their way up and very little learning about what to do when they get there, so who's left?
